Energy Performance Certificates

An EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) is a report on the energy performance of a property. 

A report is produced which includes an Energy Efficiency Rating, similar to that found on domestic appliances, measuring the overall efficiency of a home on a A to G scale. The report also indicates the potential rating should low-cost measures be undertaken to improve the energy efficiency of the property.

The reports are based on standard occupancy patterns, enabling comparisons to be made between one house and another. The energy performance related features are also assessed ‘good/average or poor’ and provide recommendations as to what measures can be undertaken to improve the property's performance and the approximate costs.

For Landlords

Landlords have to provide their tenant with a certificate and this remains valid for a 10 year period.

For Home Sellers

It is a legal requirement for an Energy Performance Certificate to be ordered, prior to your property coming on to the market. We have a wealth of contacts in this field and can arrange this for you from as little as £50 plus VAT.

Home Information Packs

The government has suspended Home Information Packs (HIPs)- making now a great time to sell your property and save on moving costs.

HIPs are still available and we can still arrange this service for you; however, it is no longer a legal requirement.
